James is a programmer, web designer, and artist originally from Detroit, Michigan.
His work focuses on creating open-ended structures for play through music, video games, & narrative world building.
After completing his undergraduate studies in Art History & Art Practice at Stanford University, James taught English and Visual Art for three years in Massachusetts public schools.
During this time he also completed a Master's Degree in Education at Boston University. James completed his MFA at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2016 with the creation of Muttnik!, a hand-animated arcade platforming game inspired by the dogs of the Soviet space program. He currently works as an Instructional & Media Designer at the Center for Medical Simulation, an industry leading non-profit focused on improving patient safety in healthcare through education and simulation.
